Dry skin or dryness is a clear proof of our protective organ "THE SKIN". There are many cause that are responsible for skin dryness such as sun, hard water, wind,.cold, chemicals, cosmetics, excessive bathing with harsh soaps by which our skin losses its softness, dries up, and after every wash the skin get unusually rough, hard.because of insufficient moisture. There are many skin diseases related with dry skin such as dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis.
According to ayurveda dry skin is caused by vata dosha. We can also say it like that dryness of skin is a predomonant trait of a Vata constitution.
Here are some tips on how to treat your sry skin problem:
Apply honey over your skin as honey is a humectant by nature, that means it attracts and retains moisture. honey is also an anti-irritant, making it suitable for a number of sensitive skin issues.
Make a mixture by mixing 1/2 tablespoon of honey +1-2 tablespoon of rose water. Apply this mixture on your dry skin affected ares for approxmately 15-20 minutes, then rinse off with clean water. Honey moisturises and soothes dry skin, and also very gentle remedy for your skin care that you can use daily. This remedy will also cleans the skin, tones it, and makes it glowing and younger looking.
You can also use egg yolk and honey in order to treat your dry skin. Therefore, make a paste using 1 teaspoon egg yolk + 1 to 2 teaspoon milk powder + 1 teaspoon honey, apply this resultant paste on face, neck and other dry skin area for atleast 10-15 minutes then rinse off your skin using cold water.
The best skin care tips for treating dry skin is to eat food rich in minerals, vitamins and proteins.
Massage your face with a mixture made up of massage oil and a few drops of glycerine.Apply natural mayonnaise, either homemade or from natural foods store. Massage into skin, leave on for 15-20 minutes, rinse thoroughly with warm water. You can also apply clarified butter or milk cream for a couple of days before going to bed.
