There are many factors responsible for chapped lips and people get chapped lips from time to time. Lips may become chapped for various reasons, including:

- Dehydration and not keep your body well hydrated

Here are some tips on how to cure and prevent chapped lips at :
Protect your lips by using lubricant cream (oil based) or you can also use petroleum jelly or beewax before going out from your home, in order to protectect your lips. Apply balm that contains sunscreen or lip cream and then cover your lips with a scarf.
Avoid licking your lips because in some cases when chapped lips become a painful problem due to habitual licking In such case you should use a medicated lip balm and also avoid using flavored balm for your children as it can encourage more licking.
Drink plenty of water or other healthy fluid in order to stay well hydrated and moisten the air in your home with a humidifier.
Apply honey on your lips for a few seconds. Without moving your lips, apply some Vaseline on top of the lips. Leave the honey and Vaseline on your lips for 10-15 minutes.
