Skin care tips for pregnant women

Each and every woman in this world expects to have beautiful, young looking and glowing skin when she becomes pregnant. But, some time this is not always the case. Skin glow during pregnancy is due to the hormonal changes and because of change in hormonal balance, different reactions are to be expected. Some women may break out during the whole term of their pregnancies while others may have acne only during the first trimester. In some case women also experience dry skin. In order to maintain skin glow throughout your term, try to make a balanced and timely skin care regimen. Here are some skin care tips for pregnant women that can help you achieve that proverbial pregnant glow:

Using skin care products:

If you are pregnant then you should update your products because in this case your skin has different needs compared to your skin before the pregnancy. Since, due to hormonal changes you may need to adjust and change the products according to your skin condition. Also, there are many products that contain harmful ingredients that are not suitable for pregnant women. It is always recommended that do consult to your doctor before choosing any product for your skin care routine.

Using products for facial care is quite good but at this stage, your body also needs extra care because of stress and trauma caused by stretching due to your increasing bulk can make your skin dry and itchy. Soaps are responsible for making your skin dry and dull by stripping off your skin’s natural oils. Therefore, you need some kind of good quality and mild moisturizers in order to restore moisture on your skin and prevent itching and dryness.

Do not expose your self too much in front of the sun because during pregnancy your skin becomes more sensitive. This means that it can get irritated and damaged easier when exposed to the sun. Always, try to apply a sunscreen as part of your daily skin care routine.

During pregnancy your abdominal area skin experiences continuous stretch throughout the whole term. This stretching can result to unsightly stretch marks long after you have given birth. In order to prevent stretch marks, try to make a regular massaging schedule and give your tummy area a massage using a moisturizing pregnancy gel or cream.

Say no or low to make up. Aside from these tips, try to make a balanced diet plan and a regular exercise plan and also one thing here - getting sufficient rest are still the most basic things you can do for a good pregnancy and even better skin.
