Cold winter weather and dry skin both comes together and there are many people those who spend lot of time by itching ashy legs, licking lips, and caring cracked hands. But, there are less number of intelligent people those who maintain a balanced winter dry skin care routine in order to prevent their skin from drying. However, if you are prone to dry skin during the cold winter weather, you need not resign yourself to your fate. Here are some simple tips on how to make a balanced (less time consuming) dry winter skin care regimen.
The main cause of dry skin is low moisture means shortage of water in the air. This water shortage results in dry skin. Therefore, if you want to prevent dry skin, you should take some extra measures for controlling the humidity in your environment and keep it locked into your skin.

Moisturizer
Moisturizing the skin is very important part of your skincare regimen especially in the dry winter season. Use lotions and body creams for giving your skin a protective layer in order to hold in the water that keeps it supple. If you are currently using a light body lotion, switch to a richer formula when the temperature drops. Doing so will feed thirsty skin and keep out the drying effects of the cold with a thin oily layer. Use moisturizer on daily basis. Use warm water rather than using hot water because hot water will strip off the natural oils from the skin , which is the cause of dry skin. Wear chap stick, especially when going outdoors, to keep your lips from cracking in low humidity.
Diet
Diet selection is also important for getting gorgeous skin in winter. Your body needs moisture inside as well as out to keep the skin lush and healthy. Try to avoid unhealthy skin foods such as alcohol, coffee, tea and sodas these products are also known for causing dehydration making your skin dull and aged. Increase your daily water intake and try to drink at least 8 to 10 glasses of water.
Exfoliation
Exfoliate your skin at least once a weak in order to remove dead skin cells. Every three days or so, you should also use a mild exfoliant like an oatmeal soap or complexion scrub on your face. Pumice stones are great for removing coarse skin from the heels of the feet and are available at most drugstores. Avoid over exfoliation.
Humidity Control
Use humidifier in your house in order provides your skin with extra moisture or if you want you can also use plants in your home.
Protection
Take every measure for protecting your skin from dehydration like put on gloves while using detergents or other household cleaning stuff. Take care of your feet when you are home, wearing cotton socks or slippers instead of going barefoot.
